Dementia and Alzheimer's care across Nanaimo happens in family homes: quiet routines, the same caregiver each visit, gentle redirection when the day shifts. We work in Downtown Nanaimo and the Old City, North Nanaimo and Hammond Bay, Departure Bay and Brechin Hill, and the rest of the city, with caregivers families know by name.

Who it's for
Families navigating early to mid-stage dementia at home. We're not a memory care facility. We're the help that lets your loved one stay home, longer, with someone they trust.
Hours and schedule
Frequency varies. Some families need a few hours a week, others daily visits. Four-hour minimum per visit. Days and evenings.
§
Steady care for Island routines.
Nanaimo's dementia clients are often retirees who chose the Island for its rhythm, and that rhythm is exactly what good dementia care protects. The same Island-team caregiver each visit, the harbour-front or neighbourhood walk kept safely in the week, the home's routines held even as memory loosens its grip on them. Family on the mainland get the after-visit note that lets them stay close without crossing on every worry.

Dementia & Alzheimer's care in Nanaimo: what families ask.
Is caregiver consistency possible with a smaller Island team?
Yes: if anything, more so. The Nanaimo team is built around steady, recurring arrangements, and the same-caregiver principle holds: a familiar face is half the care.
We visit monthly from Vancouver. How do we make those visits count?
Between visits, the notes carry the detail; when you're here, the caregiver can brief you in person and the visit schedule can flex around your stay. Families often time the in-home assessment or care-plan reviews to those trips.
Where in Nanaimo we deliver.
We see Nanaimo families in Downtown Nanaimo and the Old City, North Nanaimo and Hammond Bay, Departure Bay and Brechin Hill, South Nanaimo and Chase River, and Lantzville and Cedar.
What it costs, and how families pay for it (extended health, VAC, CSIL,
and more), is laid out in costs and coverage. The people behind the visits are here: meet our caregivers.
