Many Nanaimo families don't need full-day care, just a few hours a week, the right kind. Our caregivers cover Downtown Nanaimo and the Old City, North Nanaimo and Hammond Bay, Departure Bay and Brechin Hill, and the rest of the city, on schedules that fit working families.
Older adults whose family wants them to stay in their own home, with help. The 'eyes-on a few times a week' service that prevents the bigger crises.
Hours and schedule
Four-hour minimum per visit. Most families start with one to three visits a week and adjust over time.
§
The week's needs, met locally.
Nanaimo runs long north to south, and hourly care here is about placing the hours where the week needs them: the grocery run in North Nanaimo, the NRGH-area appointment with company in the waiting room, the cooked meal and the medication check in between. One to three visits a week is the usual rhythm: enough to keep a parent independent on the Island while the family, often a ferry away, stays informed through the visit notes.

Hourly home care in Nanaimo: what families ask.
Can visits be built around medical appointments?
Yes: transportation to appointments is part of hourly care, and Nanaimo visits are commonly anchored to them: there, back, and the rest of the hours spent on the home front.
What's the smallest sensible arrangement?
One four-hour visit a week, well placed. It covers the heaviest errand, a real meal, and a trained look at how the week is actually going. It's the easiest possible way to start.
Where in Nanaimo we deliver.
We see Nanaimo families in Downtown Nanaimo and the Old City, North Nanaimo and Hammond Bay, Departure Bay and Brechin Hill, South Nanaimo and Chase River, and Lantzville and Cedar.
What it costs, and how families pay for it (extended health, VAC, CSIL,
and more), is laid out in costs and coverage. The people behind the visits are here: meet our caregivers.
