Is four hours more than Mum needs?
It rarely turns out that way. The four-hour minimum is a labour-standards floor, and a useful visit fills it easily: a meal cooked rather than reheated, the errand done together rather than for her, company that isn't watching the clock.

Within reason, yes. Most families settle into a rhythm of one to three visits a week and adjust as needs change. The schedule follows the situation.
