Who it's for
Families whose loved one is coming home after surgery, a hospital stay, or a fall. With registered nurses on the team and a BC HCP license, we cover both the personal-care and the clinical sides of recovery: wound care, infusions, medication management, the lot.
Hours and schedule
Most families start with daily visits in the first week, then taper. Four-hour minimum per visit. Days, evenings, overnights, or 24-hour care depending on what the recovery calls for.

Recovery in a vertical city.
Vancouver recoveries happen in buildings as often as houses: a 14th-floor apartment off Davie, a Kerrisdale walk-up with stairs the discharge plan never met. We plan the first week around the architecture (transfers, elevator timing, where the walker lives) and around two big hospitals' follow-up schedules. Notes from each visit are written for two readers: the family, and the clinician at the next appointment.

My father lives alone downtown. Is recovering at home realistic?
Often, yes; that's the point of the service. Daily visits in the first week cover medications, wounds, meals, and mobility, and we'll tell you honestly on the 15-minute call if the situation needs more than visits can hold.
What goes back to the doctors after discharge?
We work from the discharge summary and your family doctor's orders, write notes after each visit, and send your loved one to the follow-up with a record of how the recovery actually went, instead of a best guess from the waiting room.
