Salve Health Care

Post-hospital recovery in New Westminster

New Westminster families coming home from Royal Columbian Hospital usually need the same thing the first week: someone to follow the discharge plan when family can't be there all day. Salve covers that across Queens Park and Uptown, Sapperton and McBride, Downtown and Quayside, and the rest of New Westminster.

What's included.

Who it's for

Families whose loved one is coming home after surgery, a hospital stay, or a fall. With registered nurses on the team and a BC HCP license, we cover both the personal-care and the clinical sides of recovery: wound care, infusions, medication management, the lot.

Hours and schedule

Most families start with daily visits in the first week, then taper. Four-hour minimum per visit. Days, evenings, overnights, or 24-hour care depending on what the recovery calls for.

After Royal Columbian, the real work.

Royal Columbian handles the region's serious cases, which means New West recoveries often start further back: cardiac events, major surgery, trauma. The discharge plans are correspondingly dense (drains, staged medications, wound regimes), and our caregivers follow them line by line, with RN visits folded in where the plan crosses into clinical work. The setting is the other half: heritage homes whose narrow stairs become part of the mobility plan, not an afterthought.
