Family caregivers across North Vancouver often reach the point of needing a break before they reach the point of asking. Salve provides scheduled respite (a few hours, a weekend, longer if needed) across Central Lonsdale and Lower Lonsdale, Lynn Valley and Lynn Creek, Deep Cove and Seymour, with caregivers your loved one already trusts.

§
Who it's for
Family caregivers who've been at this long enough to know they need a break. The first call is the hardest; it gets easier.
Hours and schedule
Anywhere from four hours to a full week. We cover days, evenings, overnights, and around-the-clock multi-shift coverage when the situation needs it.
§
Coverage on both sides of the bridge.
North Vancouver's family carers split into two shifts: the adult children commuting over the bridge who can't be two places at once, and the at-home spouses who never clock out at all. Respite serves both: a standing weekday block that covers the commute hours, or the overnight and weekend coverage that gives a live-in carer back their sleep and their Saturdays. Same caregiver each time; the handoff gets shorter as the familiarity grows.

Respite for family caregivers in North Vancouver: what families ask.
Can the block run until I'm back from downtown?
Yes: respite blocks are commonly timed to the commute, with enough margin that a late bridge doesn't turn into a crisis. The caregiver stays until the handoff happens.
Is overnight respite available every week?
Yes, as a recurring arrangement. A weekly covered night is one of the most restorative patterns we schedule; sleep is the resource family care actually runs on.
Where in North Vancouver we deliver.
We see North Vancouver families in Central Lonsdale and Lower Lonsdale, Lynn Valley and Lynn Creek, Deep Cove and Seymour, Edgemont and Capilano, Upper Lonsdale and Tempe, and Norgate and Pemberton Heights.
What it costs, and how families pay for it (extended health, VAC, CSIL,
and more), is laid out in costs and coverage. The people behind the visits are here: meet our caregivers.
